This Boscastle painting is one of a series of Cornwall coast paintings and shows Short Island between Boscastle and Tintagel on the South West Coast Path in North Cornwall.
It is a 'rhapsody in blue', emphasising the wonderful colours in the sea and sky, and the sense of the horizon dissolving. It captures the vivid blue sea, bright blue sky. and the rugged texture of the cliffs.
This mixed media painting is based on sketches and studies made onsite on the clifftop, looking out over the cliffs and the sea. It features acrylic paints & inks, collage, and oil pastel.
